Yarra Valley Equestrian Experience at Spring Creek Equine

Located on the fertile river flats of Coldstream, the gateway to Victoria’s Yarra Valley, just 50 kilometers from Melbourne, Spring Creek Farm is the brainchild of Samantha Cesnik and Chris Height. 

As international equestrian riders they have set out to create a world class training facility for themselves and clients to enjoy. Both riders work from Spring Creek Farm training and teaching horses and riders of all abilities. Spanning 35 acres, the facility incorporates an indoor horse-riding arena, horse water treadmill, cross country jumping course, extensive private paddocks, 10 stables and associated infrastructure housing 20+ horses at any one time. 

This unique experience offers guests a chance to see ‘behind the scenes’ of an elite training facility not usually open to the public

About your hosts

Samantha & Chris both compete at Olympic level in Eventing which is akin to equine triathlon. They have 8 horses between them who have been handpicked from around Australia and New Zealand. Many of these horses have a history of Racing in many countries around the world before changing careers. Chris was recently qualified for the London Olympics and both riders hope to have horses in contention for the Olympics in France in 2024. 

It takes 6-8 years to produce a horse from the beginning of its career to the Olympic level and equestrian is the only Olympic sport where men and women compete equally, with no handicap for either gender.

The property itself has resources sourced from all over the world to enable the horses to have the very best care possible. An equine Solarium from Germany, arena surface from Italy and sporting equipment from several countries. The facility (and others like it around the world) is not usually open to the public and so this experience is truly unique.
